Principal Talmadge Reasoner is a driving force behind the annual Veterans Day program at Emerson Elementary School in Seymour.

At this morning’s program, he, too, issued a challenge to thank a veteran today, and any day.

“It’s a shame we don’t honor veterans every day,” Reasoner told the gymnasium filled with students, their families and veterans of all service branches.

Though not a veteran himself, Reasoner holds great respect for those who served the nation in the military. His father “served proudly and honorably” in the Vietnam War. His dad’s service is key to his respect for the militrary, Reasoner said.
