What do you think about Congress trying to come up with a bailout plan for the nation’s Big 3 automakers — General Motors, Ford and Chrysler?

Have you voted on our TribTown poll? As I write this, the “no” votes far outweight the “yes” votes.

Generally, I have to say I’m against a bailout. Government shouldn’t be in the auto business, just as it shouldn’t be in the banking or insurance business. Or the newspaper business.

But I do realize a lot of families are relying on checks from GM, Ford and Chrysler, as well as from auto parts suppliers, including those here in Jackson County.
